Charles Rose Architects is an award-winning national practice known for its creative and holistic approach to architecture and landscape. Founded in 1990, the mid-sized studio maintains a diverse group of exceptionally talented designers. Our portfolio of work is broad, varying in type, scope, location and complexity. We are known for creating environments that are beautiful, functional, and sustainable. While the work has received acclaim for its artistic merits, we take great pride in our responsiveness to the concerns of our clients.
With surprising use of volumes, materials, and geometries, agile movements of spaces, and an active language of planes and lines, Rose creates dynamic, expressive architecture that reminds us that buildings can be both sensitive to their locale and embrace the timeless principles of geometry, material, light, and shadow.

His award-winning buildings have been praised for their form, orientation to site, and carefully composed experiential sequences as well as their sustainability and net-zero integration.
How We Work
Our process is sensitive to the values and objectives of our clients and inclusive of different viewpoints and ideas. We find our best work grows out of collaboration and dialogue with our clients. We know that by extensively engaging the user, we gain a deeper understanding of the site, the program and our clients’ aspirations for the project. We find that the constructive and creative involvement of all participants leads to novel, imaginative solutions, and gives us the input we need to carry out highly responsive designs.
